Unique Artist Books
The form of the book has been very influential to my art. I often think in narrative, story, time-based readings and audience interaction with the art.
Most of my books are unique and sculptural. I view sculptural formats as containers of meaning for stories. I use many media, including found objects, handmade paper, collage, printmaking, and sewing to explore subjects over a long period of time.
Book projects are evolutions of my thinking and I enjoy the process of discovery of patterns and integrations between cover, page, text, image and physical process. Altered books are also a part of my work. I enjoy reliving and redefining the contents of a book from my personal perspectives. Books as a part of my studio practice involve, meditation, sensory experience and a deeper connection with spiritual and psychological learning.
